Credit Unions can provide the services you require for your financial needs, just like banks, but there is one big difference - our focus is on you, as our Member.

Who can join

To become a Member, you are required to meet eligibility criteria and purchase a $10 share, which is refunded if you cancel your Membership. You need to be:

Employed as a casual, part-time or full-time teacher, lecturer or instructor of any government funded establishments, such as the Department of Education or retired from the above
Employed as a full-time, casual or part-time school administrative and support staff person or administrative staff person in TAFE
Studying to become a teacher
Working in certain teacher related organisations
A relative of a current shareholding Member - a spouse, defacto, child, stepchild, grandchild, grandparent, parent, brother or sister
A Teachers Federation Health Member

You also need to be a member of the NSW Teachers Federation, the Australian Education Union (ACT), the Australian Education Union (NT branch), the Commonwealth Public Service Union (CPSU) or a member of your own industrial or professional association, if one exists.

If you're studying education

You can join as a Future Teacher Member if you’re currently completing a Diploma or Bachelor of Education at any educational institution in NSW, ACT or the Northern Territory and be an associate or Student Member of the appropriate teaching union. You can take advantage of the 7 special Future Teacher benefits while you are studying. However, if you are in your final year of study, your benefits will continue until the end of the following year.

For Under 18s

Special accounts are available to assist Under 18 Members. These accounts can be opened as long as you are their parent, grandparent, brother or sister and a current shareholding Member.
