Our values
We’re a credit union and a mutual
Members who bank with us are part owners of Teachers Credit Union. They are all equal, can vote, and receive benefits. Find out more about mutuality.
We exist for our members
We believe in building lifelong relationships with our members, assisting them in their financial journey. We’re committed to maintaining strong financial performance, a high level of member satisfaction, quality products and understanding their needs. Read our Mutual Banking Code of Practice.
We live our values
We’re founded on a core set of values - education, partnership, strength, commitment, integrity and sustainability. These values don’t just sit framed on our walls; they guide our everyday decision making. And our members can see it too:
"Teachers Credit Union is owned by the members and so keeps costs at a minimum and passes on realistic charges only. Politically I am committed to money management that supports the people whose money it is’".

We’re passionate about education
To show our support, we invest in many initiatives in the education community.
We’re part of a global movement focused on their communities
Credit unions exist worldwide, aiming to empower people by providing access to quality, affordable financial services, often to people who need it most. There are currently more than 46,000 credit unions operating in 97 countries, assisting over 197 million people. We support the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), the leading international association and development agency for credit unions worldwide and the Credit Union Foundation Australia, the development agency for Australian credit unions.
