28 November 2007
Mr Alexander Vandenberg is the 150,000th member to join Teachers Credit Union, the largest credit union in New South Wales and the fourth largest in Australia.
Mr Vandenberg joined Teachers Credit Union after his mother and brother recommended the benefits of becoming a member. Mr Vandenberg said "Teachers Credit Union made it very easy for me to get a loan for my new car which I need for my work as a carpenter. They offer cheaper interest rates than the banks and the staff were very helpful. I'm very happy with the great service and I'll be transferring all my business to the Credit Union."
Teachers Credit Union members have the highest customer satisfaction score of any financial institution in Australia with a score of 95%.1
"We continue to outperform the banks with regards to customer satisfaction as we are totally focused on providing exceptional member service and competitive products" said Chief Executive Mr Steve James.
This milestone tops off a very successful year for Teachers Credit Union having just celebrated 40 years, reaching $2 billion in assets and $200 million in reserves.
