Online scam notification

There is a hoax email circulating, claiming to be from Verified by Visa.

The subject title of the email is: “Get an extra layer of security when you shop online” and detail within the email offers the user a $50,000 bonus for adding an extra security feature by choosing a password. These emails are not being sent by Verified by Visa and are not legitimate. Please do not provide any personal information or download any program from this site.

If you suspect you have received a hoax email:

• do not open it
• delete the email immediately
• do not click on any links or attachments, and
• do not enter any personal information including PINs or access codes.
