Mr Ng of Asquith wins $40,000 major prize in Credit Union competition

16 July 2007

Mr A Ng of Asquith has won the $40,000 major prize in NSW Teachers Credit Union's Membership Competition.

The competition celebrated the history and achievements of Teachers Credit Union over its 40 years.

Members had the chance to win the $40,000 major prize or a $4,000 quarterly prize. Entry into the competition was by either joining the Credit Union or current members introducing a family member or a work colleague to Teachers Credit Union.

Mr Ng, a science teacher, joined the Teachers Credit Union after a colleague at Chatswood High School recommended the benefits of becoming a member. Mr Ng, his wife, and children all decided to become members.

In 2006 the Teachers Credit Union celebrated 40 years of service to its members. Over its 40 years the Credit Union has provided financial services to teachers, administrative staff and their family members in NSW, ACT and the NT, including rural, regional and remote locations.

Mr Ng joins a Credit Union that since commencing in September 1966 with a few dedicated members can now boast that it is the largest credit union in New South Wales, with over 147,000 members and assets of more than $1.85 billion.

The Teachers Credit Union also donated over $11,000 to The Children's Hospital at Westmead and to Stewart House as part of this Membership Competition.
